Meet Holly

Hi, my name is Holly and I am a member of room 3. I like writing and reading and sometimes I like math.
My interests are: playing ball at my house, hanging out with my friends.
Here is a piece of my writing recently.
The Storm
The sound is like elephants stomping on the ground.
Light fills the pitch black sky.
Strong lightning strikes...like a school disco.
Rain heavily tumbles down nonstop!
Pitter, patter, pitter, patter.

Homework for week 7

Hi all,

I thought that I should update the blog with this weeks homework. I was away on Monday so was not able to get the h/w sheet out. The children have been instructed to research the topic 'RAINFORESTS". This is our inquiry learning topic till the end of term. So get all the info you can. We are looking for a total 'information saturation' on rainforests. We'll make a wall display of the collected data so pics and facts would be great.

Chistchurch people are our people

As a way of understanding the horrible time we have had as a country over the last week, We have been writing about earthquakes. The children had to use their knowledge of 'rich', descriptive language.

The samples below (and all of the class samples) are dedicated to the families and lives of the Christchurch people. The text will be displayed in black and red to show support of black and red day for Chch people.

Crash, bang, wollap! Houses came tumbling down on top of each other.
The christchurch eathquake rumbles the town.
Terrified workers, screaming their lives out.
Suddenly it stops and they all look around babys, kids nearly everyone has got lot's of bruses.
Bodies stuck and trapped in buildings.
It was a DISARSTER!
Roads and paths are all cracked like a little slide.
Earthquakes are always bad!
My thoughts are with christchurch!

Aaliyah Year 4

Crumble, Crack, Crash, The terrified people sprinted out of their crashing home's.
Damaged building's tumbled down.
People worried of home's crushing like a giants shoelaces.
People hurt, kid's frightened, Cars crushed with heavy brick's on top of them.
My thoughts are for christchurch.
